Qatar Airways Ltd. lifted its stake in British Airways owner IAG SA close to 12 percent. Willie Walsh, CEO of IAG, said in February that the Qatar Air partnership could expand joint purchases, add to code-sharing arrangements and coordinate cargo units.

Virgin America Inc. received takeover offers from JetBlue Airways Corp. and Alaska Air Group Inc. after the carrier backed by billionaire Richard Branson put itself up for sale, according to people familiar with the matter.Last week, Bloomberg reported that the carrier was working with financial advisers on a sale after receiving takeover interest.
